About Celuvra

Long-term care planning, democratized

Celuvra uses SSA actuarial life tables, Markov health state transition models, CareScout cost-of-care surveys, and Monte Carlo simulation to help you determine whether buying LTCI, self-insuring, or going hybrid is the right strategy for your specific financial and health profile.

The Problem

70% of Americans turning 65 will need some form of long-term care. The median cost of a private nursing home room is $108,405 per year. Yet the vast majority of people have no LTC strategy at all. Those who do seek advice typically hear from insurance agents who earn commissions on LTCI policy sales -- hardly an unbiased source.

Our Approach

We built the actuarial models that insurance companies use internally and made them available to consumers. Our Markov health state transition model predicts the probability and duration of LTC need. Our Monte Carlo engine runs 10,000 simulations across three strategies -- buy LTCI, self-insure, and hybrid -- to show you expected costs, worst-case costs, and the probability of financial ruin under each approach. The recommendation is based on your numbers, not a sales quota.

Our Values

Actuarial Rigor

SSA life tables, HHS/ASPE LTSS risk projections, CareScout cost surveys, and Markov health state transition models. Every number traces back to published actuarial data.

Accessible Intelligence

LTC planning data has been locked behind insurance agents who earn commissions on policy sales. We make the actuarial math accessible to every consumer.

Honest Assessment

We show expected costs AND worst-case scenarios. Monte Carlo simulations with ruin probabilities so you understand the full risk spectrum, not just averages.

Developer-First

Every calculation available to consumers is also available through our REST API. Build LTC planning into your own financial advisory applications.
